Destinations
With its diverse landscapes, geographical wonders, abundant wildlife viewing and rich cultural experiences, East Africa is one of the most magical destinations in the world to visit. Whether you want to combine your safari retreat with active adventures, unique experiences or pure relaxation, the below destinations have it all!

Tanzania
One of Africa’s most beautiful destinations. Tanzania is home to natural highlights, including the great wildebeest migration, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti.
Tanzania
Tanzania

Highlights of Tanzania
- See the Big 5 on safari in Tanzania’s unspoilt national parks and reserves.
- Serengeti National Park and the great wildebeest migration.
- Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the famous volcanic Ngorongoro Crater.
- Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Beautiful white sand beaches and historic Stone Town of Zanzibar.
- Cultural experiences with Maasai, Datoga and Hadzabe tribes.
When is the best time to do a safari in Tanzania?
June to August is the best time for a safari in Tanzania. The spectacular Mara River crossing occurs June-July and drier weather means more wildlife around waterholes. That said, the Great Migration swirls around the Serengeti outside these months; you just have to follow its course. June-August is cooler too – ideal months for avoiding the harsh heat. January-February brings fewer vehicles and greener landscapes after the short rains. You’ll see baby wildebeest… and more predators. Heavy rain showers in March, April and May can cause travel disruption and many lodges in the remote south close.
How many days should you spend in Tanzania?
Tanzania is an extensive country with so much to see and do. A minimum of 7 - 10 days is suggested for a safari experience and longer if you want to combine more national parks, a trek up Kilimanjaro or relaxing on the beaches of Zanzibar to end off your stay.

Kenya
Magical Kenya is home to some of the most beautiful reserves and natural parks such as the Masai Mara and offers a number of unique wildlife and cultural experiences.
Kenya
Kenya

Highlights of Kenya
- See the Big 5 on safari in Kenya’s unspoilt national parks and reserves.
- Masai Mara National Reserve and the great wildebeest migration (July - October).
- View large herds of elephants and epic views of Mount Kilimanjaro in Amboseli National Park.
- Mount Kilimanjaro.
- Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its huge flocks of pink flamingos.
- Beautiful white sand beaches along the Kenyan coastline.
- Cultural experiences with Maasai and Samburu tribes.
When is the best time to do a safari in Kenya?
One of the best times to visit Kenya is from July to September, during the country's dry season, which also coincides with the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra. The rainy seasons are also good times to travel, as there are fewer visitors and you can admire the striking emerald vegetation.
How many days should you spend in Kenya?
Kenya is an excellent place to holiday in Africa, especially for safari-goers. A minimum of 7 - 10 days is recommended for you to experience the country's healthy national park and conservancy presence with loads of wildlife, mixed with possible cultural experiences, beach relaxation, and active excursions.

Uganda
The “Pearl of Africa” is probably one of Africa's best-kept secrets, famous for its large populations of mountain gorillas, rolling terrain, and plentiful wildlife.
Uganda
Uganda

Highlights of Uganda
- Trek with the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
- See the tree climbing lions and cruise along the Kazinga Channel in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
- Go white water rafting in Jinja, Uganda’s outdoor adventure centre.
- Track habituated chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park.
- Take in the splendor of Murchison Falls.
- Track white rhino on foot in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.
When is the best time to travel to Uganda?
The best time to visit Uganda is during its two dry seasons: between December and February, and between June and August, when conditions are particularly good for trekking to see mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. Game spotting in national parks is also good at this time, as well as between February and March.
How many days should you spend in Uganda?
With 5 days in Uganda, travelers should prioritize visiting the gorillas. You can visit Bwindi for two days of gorilla trekking, plus a boat trip and safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. In ten days, you can start with a Murchison Falls National Park safari and a Nile Delta boat trip, continue to Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking and more safari time in Queen Elizabeth, and cap it off with the gorillas of Bwindi. Two weeks is equally easy to fill—add a visit to Jinja for whitewater rafting and two days in the Kidepo Valley.

Rwanda
Rwanda is known as the Land of a Thousand Hills and has many hidden treasures and wildlife encounters to offer, including trekking with the rare mountain gorillas.
Rwanda
Rwanda

Highlights of Rwanda
- Trek with the endangered mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park.
- See the Big 5 in Akagera National Park.
- Visit the Rwanda Genocide Memorial in Kigali.
- Explore Nyungwe Rainforest and search for resident chimpanzees.
- Relax along the picturesque shores of Lake Kivu.
When is the best time to travel to Rwanda?
The best time to visit Rwanda is usually in the dry seasons in June-September and December-early February. That said, most visitors travel to Rwanda to see gorillas, and so the best time is often whenever you can get a highly in-demand permit. Don’t be put off by the rainy season in Rwanda, either. The shorter rains in November and longer rains from March to May will give you the forests, lakes and mountains all to yourself.
How many days should you spend in Rwanda?
With 5 days in Rwanda, travelers should prioritize visiting the gorillas. Head straight to Volcanoes National Park for two days of gorilla trekking, and spend the last half of your trip in Nyungwe Forest for a canopy walk and chimpanzee trek. In ten days, you can start with a game drive and boat cruise in Akagera National Park, continue to Nyungwe and Volcanoes parks for chimpanzee and gorilla tracking, and end in Gisenyi with a Lake Kivu boat cruise. Two weeks is equally easy to fill—add a visit to Buhanga Eco Park, observe golden and colobus monkeys, and enjoy guided city tours in Kigali and Kibuye.
